The (CS)²AI Online™ Symposium: ICS/OT Cyber Security for Oil & Gas Sector is a virtual, specialized event focused on safeguarding critical infrastructure and operational technologies within the oil and gas industry. Hosted by the Control System Cyber Security Association International ((CS)²AI), the symposium gathers industry experts, threat intelligence analysts, control systems engineers, and cybersecurity leaders.

Event Launch and introduction (1:00-1:10 pm)

Panel 1 (1:10-2:10 pm)

Leader: Danielle Jablanski of STV

Topic: ICS/OT Cybersecurity as a safety and governance issue. As OT and IT integrate, boards increasingly frame cyber risk in terms of physical safety, environmental impact, and asset integrity rather than just data loss. That reframing is driving a push for a CISO or equivalent role with enterprise-wide authority and direct board access, plus formal, business-oriented risk assessments spanning IT, OT, and cloud, prioritized by safety/environmental/financial impact.

Panel 2 (2:15-3:15 pm)

Leader: Blake Gilson of ExxonMobil

Topic: Incident Response Readiness. OT/ICS incident response may be O&G's most urgent gap - companies struggle to communicate, contain, and document incidents across geographically dispersed assets and the IT/OT organizational divide.

Panel 3 (3:20-4:20 pm)

Leader: Kenny Mesker of Chevron

Topic: IT/OT segmentation and lateral-movement risk. Oil & gas has very low segmentation findings among industrial sectors, largely due to legacy flat networks. Boards worry specifically about ransomware that starts in IT and crosses into control systems, since that's what turns a data breach into a production shutdown. Segmentation and eliminating direct VPN/jump-host access into OT are the standard asks.

Leader: Sarah Freeman of MITRE

Topic: Recent Cyber Incidents in Oil & Gas such as "Epic Fury," which appears to have accelerated OT security spending industry-wide even though
